I have been thinking about posting for about 6 months now... but if I do that is a lot to catch up on :) So I just never posted anything :) I think I will try to start it again... adding recipes I have tried, crafts I really like... and hopefully tried lol, and some stuff my girls do.

Since my last post though a few things did happen:
Maylee started & finished Kindergarten
Mia started & finished 2nd grade
Mike started & finished his 3rd year of Construction Management (yeah one more to go, party!)
Mike turned 30
Marcia turned 30
Maylee turned 6
Mia turned 8
- and got baptized and got her ears pierced
Madalyn turned 2
Mike and Marcia celebrated 9 years of marriage :)

I decided I was going to make some stuff for the baby shower I had went too. I did enjoy making it and made it feel more personal then just buying something.

I made a wipe cover w/ matching burp cloth

And I also made another burp cloth and leg warmers... it was fun :)

Let the deluge begin… For that “Come hither, while I bake us some cookies” look, how about a sexy halter apron? Here’s a pattern I have in the works. And, remarkably, it looks fantastic on a variety of body types, so I won't have to grade the pattern -- yay!

I’m amassing a number of designs before hunting out a printer. However, I’m not up to waiting until they’re printed before sharing. All I do these days is eat, sleep, sew and change diapers. Throw in a number of trips around the world to Elijah’s school and a bit of blogging and you’ve got a pretty accurate view of my life, at least for the next few weeks (prepping for Quilt Market).

You see, my fabric is in. My fabric is in! I’ll post the whole stack this week. Meanwhile, cheer me on, “Sew, Heather, sew!”

Here are a few... some of them playing... and sleeping. We also got a new tent and net tent this year and got to use them! Our tent ranges from 6' to 8' tall.. two rooms so nice to be able to actually move around! (oh it also has a hedged door which makes it really nice, especially for the girls).

Happiness: 3 amazing tips from the world's oldest case study

We’ve all heard countless studies, articles and TV interviews on happiness. But the other day I stumbled upon something that is just now being revealed to the media for the first time.* It's a 72 year old study that began all the way back in 1937 when 268 Harvard University sophomores were asked to participate in a study measuring “a formula-some mix of love, work, and adaptation-for a good life.” And while many of those who were college sophomores in 1937 are now dying or in their fading twilight, this study continues to be diligently maintained to this very day.

And never before has science been able to report such fascinating and thoroughly time-tested results on happiness. Following are 3 powerful lessons from this study.

1. Have a Healthy Outlet

So many of the people in this study seemed to have all their ducks in a row. In their prime years in the 1950’s and 1960’s, they were making big money in powerful careers. They had beautiful families and lived in idyllic neighborhoods. Oddly enough, later in life, many of these fortunate people ended up breaking down mentally and physically. Why? If one didn’t have a healthy outlet for their fears, nerves, and struggles, it was only a matter of time before repressed demons erupted to the surface. The happiest people in this study had a healthy outlet. They were altruistic or had a rich sense of humor. They funneled their issues into sport, “their lust into courtship.”

It’s something important to consider. As the study proves, a human being can get away with sustaining daily nerves, fears, and doubts for a number of years. But ultimately, such a nervous nelly will crack. If you haven’t already, develop an outlet…find a sport, commit to helping others, lighten up, and laugh more often. A wise one said, "A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs, jolted by every pebble in the road."

2. Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously

This study, as reported in Atlantic Magazine, was summed up beautifully by the journalist Joshua Shenk: “Herein lies the key to a good life--not rules to follow, nor problems to avoid-- but an engaged humility, an earnest acceptance of life’s pains and promises.”

In other words, one can only carry the burden of a big ego and lots of pride for so long before your proverbial knees will buckle. Don’t take life too seriously. We all have weaknesses. Do you really want to battle your dark side year after year? Or might it just be time to lay down your arms, take a deep breath, and enjoy life. It’s shorter than you think.

3. Happiness Must be Shared

The other night I was watching the movie adaptation of Into the Wild, the true story of Chris McCandless (see above photo which is a self-portrait found undeveloped in McCandless's camera after his death). Fed up with the rat race, McCandless graduated college in the early 1990's, left his worried parents in the dust, sold all his belongings, and ventured deep into the Alaskan wilderness. Before dying of starvation, he seemed to regret his isolationist ways and wrote these last words in his journal, “Happiness only real when shared.” According to the 72 year old study, McCandless was spot on. In the study, those who spent too much alone time ultimately struggled. The happiest subjects in the study were those who sustained meaningful, healthy relationships with friends and family. One can never give enough hugs, say enough "I love you's," and send enough "I miss you's."

As I emphasize in my book and to my own crazy self each and every day: Livin' the good life is not fancy trips, and expensive jewels, and high brow country clubs. Rather, livin' the good life is livin' the moment!

Madalyn Ann Tarver was born March 19th, 2009 at 5:56pm. She weighed in a 7 lbs 6 ozs and was 21 inches long. She has been a really good baby and has no problems. (if you are healthy you are more than welcome to stop by... if you are sick please wait :) )

As for me... things went pretty well. C-section went as good as it could have.. and I have actually felt better this time around. But my blood pressure decided to go up after she was born.. so they watch that pretty good for a while.. it is now good. Otherwise I am healing pretty well and moving good (still have a time before that is great though).

The girls are loving being big sisters!! (have pictures to show that)

Maylee had her b-day and had to have a giant cupcake for her cake! It was way easy and everybody loved it!

And one morning I was in the other room.. and found Maylee eating this.... yes it is brown sugar! She even had breakfast but thought this would give her an energy boost or something... not sure.. but this was the second time I caught her doing this.

Today is International Blog In day for those of us who want to get the word out about the CPSIA. It is something that has me upset and a lot of people worried.

What is the CPSIA? In short, after a spate of imported children's products were found to contain lead, the United States Congress quickly drafted and passed the CPSIA, or the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act in August 2008. This law is slated to go into implementation on February 10, 2009.

Among other things, the CPSIA bans lead and phthalates in childrens products (ages 12 and under) mandates third party testing and certification (of EACH product part) and requires that each item be permanently labeled with a date and batch number.

Now, under the very important auspices of child safety, the CPSIA may have grave, unintended consequences.

What's the big deal?

1. It will become unlawful to make or sell anything intended for use by children 12 or under without a program to test goods for lead. Even if no items of their kind have EVER posed a lead risk. Even if the materials were sourced from the most conscientious supplier (one who already tests for lead and phthalates) and even if they're items toddlers will never put in their mouth such as dartboards or bicycle tires.

2. Testing is so costly thousands of small businesses will be forced to close. For example, I use five different materials to make my dolls. Each part will cost around $300 to test. That means one doll will cost me $1,500+ to produce. And when I need to buy more materials, I will have to test again—even if it comes from the exact same roll of fabric I used before. Can you afford a $1,500 doll?

3. The law is so poorly written it doesn't carefully define which items are to be tested. Anything a 12 year old or under might use? So . . . towels, light switches, books, quilts, chairs . . .? And the disclaimer, "not for children under 12", doesn't hold legal ground.

So what's going to happen February 10th?Will the shelves in the stores be empty? Will the children's sections be taped off? I know a lot of handmade items and small shops will quietly disappear. And it will become illegal to custom create anything that a child 12 and under might use.

So we are calling for an amendment to the CPSIA. Please tell everyone about it. Blog about it. Email the information. Get the word out. And send a letter to those who can make a difference, the news, congress etc.

I do have a food storage but still not the best. My wonderful sister (I only have one :) ) got to teach on shopping/eating on a budget (for that matter on a low budget) to her stake (in Virginia). Well she ended up giving my mom some websites and I now have them.

I thought I better talk a little about Mike today since it is his birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR!!!!

He is the best husband and dad anybody could ever ask for. Since nobody wants to admit who they voted for (boy or girl), I figured I should tell you that we are having another girl... and he is totally OK that. He loves his girls and wouldn't change a thing!! The girls look up to him so much... they are his little buddies. When he is fixing the car, Mia will actually go out and help, she is learning the tools by name now too.

He would do anything for anybody. He drops a lot to run and help those in need. I love that he knows when he his needed!! He of course is there for his family (all of us). He tries his hardest in all that he does!! I am grateful for his example not only for me for his children.

I love you Mike!

Tonight we are having ribs (I am so hungry right now). And Mia insisted that we make a cake... what is a birthday without cake? So when she gets home from school we will start with a cake.

You know how you see all these fun things on TV and wonder if they really work... well I am one of those people. So I want to know if you have bought anything and how you like it.

For me:

Turbo Jam... which I didn't use it long enough to to make it work yet but a friend has and she looks great!

Miracle Blade III- we have had these for years and love them. They have always worked great for us. Mike won't use anything else. We didn't try cutting metal, but they have cut everything else we have tried

Space Bags- greatest things made!!! It is cheaper to get them on their website then Walmart. I will be ordering more of them in the future as I have almost used up the other ones and need more.

Not bought from TV but was an infomerical at one time: Magic Bullet... I love this thing. Got it as a christmas gift.

Mom: You are going to freeze if you go outside, let me help you get warmer clothes on. It might snow today.

Maylee: I DON'T WANT IT TO SNOW

Mom: I don't want it to snow either, but I have no control over that.

Maylee: I said "I DON'T WANT IT TO SNOW"

Mom: I understand but it might so you need to change

Candy Bar Bouquet

So I wanted to try to make one myself with what I had at home (minus the candy bars... I don't just keep them around).

Here is what I started with: vases, marbles, flowers, candy bars, glue gun (& sticks), bamboo sticks (which I needed longer ones but made due), ribbon and of course news paper (ad) so I don't make a mess on my table

This is how they turned out... not bad but I will be working on these so they turn out much better (I think next time I will do a short base with styrofoam to put them into... we will see)

I decided to get ahead of our game and get pumpkins. We decided (just like in the past) to leave them on the front porch until we actually carved them. Yesterday I look out my door and see a squirrel sitting on one, I thought it was so cute. I told everybody in the house to come and check it out... until I realized it was feasting on my pumpkins.... so I instead ran out the door to get it off... it took a chuck out of each of them... pictures to come.

So my question... does anybody has this problem? If so what do you do so they don't eat them?

Here is Mia at her first day of school... she was way excited and still is. Except she caught the stupid nasty cold and wasn't at school yesterday or today. I think she is finally getting her voice back :)

Now here are the pictures of the little person growing inside me... hopefully by next month we will know the gender! Yes I took this pictures of a picture my scanner is being retarded!! All but the last one is in 4D... way to fun for the girls to see. This little person was moving like crazy the day we did this... so when you ask Maylee about the baby she will move her arms like crazy and tell you that is how the baby does it.

Knifty Knitter Loom- try it out!

I have the round ones and it takes me about 2 hours to make a hat.. I think if I were to do them more often I would get faster.

Movie and a Surprise

We decided to go watch a movie as a family tonight.... Journey to the Center of the World.. which we all liked! We went at 5 so we saved a few dollars by going early! I will watch the movie again... Mike said he wouldn't go to the theatre to watch it again... but would watch it again. The girls watched it the whole time... there are a few moments that freaked them out... but that is OK.

We pull up in the drive way and we have a package on our porch... I asked Mike what the heck I didn't order anything. He gets up there and reads the package.. it is from Omaha Steak... from out wonderful landlords. They thanked us for keeping the house kept up.. aren't they the greatest. So we open it and we got chicken breast... they are so fun (individually wrapped) and thankfully that is one meat both of my girls will eat! Yes I am bragging about my landlords.. I couldn't have asked for anything better!!!!!

First off... I should be back to posting again. My laptop has been really stupid and slow (it would shut off every 5 minutes. Second... I have the best husband ever.. it bought me a new computer :) And it is way faster then the laptop... I love technology!

Happy late 4th... Hope everybody had a safe and happy one. I actually didn't take one picture (I know what a sad mom) but it is all good... my kids won't hate me forever. And the fact that my laptop was stupid I couldn't clean off my disk... but we are now back in business... so once the girls let me when will be doing pictures.

Also happy 4th birthday to my niece (on the 7th)... wish you were closer so i could spoil you. Alexa will actually be visiting the end of the month... so I guess I will spoil her then :)

Once I get the computer cleaned I will start posted more pictures again.

Oh yeah I can't forget Nolan... my new nephew. He was born on July 4th! Mom and Nolan are doing great! (Mike's older brother Ray's family). I went and took some pictures and am making the birth announcement... if I get permission I will post it.

Where do I start?

Well first off... it is June... can you all believe that?

Second... our anniversary was fun! We got rid of the kids by 3 and had the whole evening to ourself. Then went to church... and of course everybody asked where the girls are... I mean hello I came doesn't that count too? :) Mike had to go home teaching... so we did that after church and finally made it to my moms at 6 or 7 at nice... we had a great time!

Third.. in case you hadn't heard... somebody is excepting

Fourth and it isn't me... but it seems everybody around me is getting pregnant! I love babies so I can't wait to hold all of yours :)

Fifth- My computer is dumb and once we (I) get the house together... you see I am having a garage sale the end on June and have to get through all of our stuff... so in a week or two I will be a new computer to work well with me! I guess with all the software and pictures I think I need I take up a lot of space. But once I do get the new computer I will be doing things way different.

Sixth- Mike is done with his first semester at UNL.. and is going through the summer. It is tech a Jr.. since he does have some schooling from a few years ago.. but he tells me all the time is the the oldest at school :) 27 years old and being the oldest... there is something wrong here. Oh talking about that... at volleyball one week we lined up by age... guess what I was the oldest there by 6 months... your kidding right 27 is not suppose to be the old one.... but as long as I feel young that is what matters!!!

7th- HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the DAD's out there! Hope you all have a great day!!

8th- Talking about being the "old" one... I had a niece graduate from High school in May (she is Mike's oldest sister's daughter). He was really fun! They had the open house at a hotel and everybody got to go swimming! It was really different that way... so made it more fun! They also had a keg!.... a keg of root beer, duh!

9th- Mothers day has also come and gone.. so hopefully all the mothers had a wonderful day! My family spoiled me with their love! (we just bought a new bed.. which I really wanted... so that was my gift!... and yes I am ok with that)

10th- If anybody has nothing better to do.. call us up and came on over! The girls love to have company! Even though the house is "smaller" we also have room for others!

I guess I will stop with 10... I could go on and on forever but won't bore you longer!
We are off to the zoo tomorrow... but I am not bringing my camera this time... but I will next time! So no pictures! I will post something next week... so you all will have something to look forward too :)

Moved In

With the help of many (Thank You) we have been moved in. I didn't realize how much stuff I had accumulated through the years! I have given myself the month of April to go through it all and have a garage sale.

The girls share a room (which they didn't before)... and really have taken it well. I thought there would be problems but after a few nights they think it is the way it is suppose to be. My plan is to have the upstairs the more "quite" area. Their room is for sleeping and reading books... all toys are downstairs or out on the back porch.

Our landlords are great!!! We have heard stories of not so good ones and were really worried aobut that. But I think we have be spoiled so it will hard if we move again!

More updates later!! I finally got the internet and am back on track there :)

One more thing... April 19 is Mike and I's wedding Anniversary... 6 great years!!! I am trying to think of something really fun... if you got ideas I would gladly take them!!! (I believe my mom will be taking the girls around 4:30 and I will pick them up after church the next day... I LOVE MY MOM).

3-20-08 Moving Day

We will be moving this Thursday to how HUGE HOUSE... OK I am kidding but it is a house so we will still have a yard, garage, shed and a basement.... non smoking, pet... exactly the things we were looking for when looking to rent something.

Ok 1st- sorry for not keeping up my blogs.. life really has been way to busy and I haven't spent a ton of time online.

2nd- Mia turned 5 on Feb 21st- So happy late B-day to her (yes we did celebrate- and I do have pictures so maybe I will have to add some)

3rd- I will eventually get caught up on my other blog with pictures... I really wanted to keep that going... but as you can tell that hasn't worked in my favor... (so I might just start and forget the whole month of Feb)

4th- We should be moved in somewhere in lincoln by the end of the month

5th- I guess I should say WE SOLD OUR HOUSE! ok well we have to wait until everything goes through but we signed the purchase agreement so it should be sold! We are suppose to finalise March 28th!

Sorry I haven't posted in a month! Life has just been way to crazy and I haven't had a ton of time online. So we will be doing better!!!

So what are the main items your children want for christmas? Mia wants, in her words "a camera, a barbie, a princess tent, and a sled thing for snow" . And well maylee says "I don't know"... but than everything she sees on TV she wants. So tell us what your kids want!! Or maybe what you have already got them. I am still figuring it all out!

Before and After Hair Cuts!

This is Maylee's first hair cut! Her hair has been way to fun and I didn't want to cut it because I was afraid her curls would go away!

Now for Mia, this isn't her first hair cut so she knew what she was getting. I pretty much just trimmed it so it lays straight and looks nice.

New Branch

I guess I never came back to tell you all about our branch. First of all I want to say all of them introduced themselves and were really nice. I don't know about you but in many wards you are lucky if one or maybe 2 families say something to you (ok there are better days I am sure... and I am one to blame too). Anyway they are all great people and we felt right at home!

But it was a little different than I was used to. We meet in a basement of a design building. Even though we weren't setting in a "real" church you felt the spirit and it was great. There a few of 5 year old girls, so Mia fits in pretty well as she will be 5 in feb. But Maylee is the youngest.. so she is the nursery. So she gets to spend alot of time with mom and dad... so if we ever go to a ward with a nursery... she probably won't want to go. But it went smooth and Mia is ready to go back! So anybody that would like to visit one sunday let me know and I will tell you how to get there!!

But don't worry.. it isn't like we won't see anybody. Everybody is always welcome here at the Tarver house. So invite youself if you haven't been invited already!

The fun part about pic races... is when you get picked and your pig wins. Here are a few pictures of Mia winning. Oh and this picture of the PIIIG is so funny... it is part of a joke so I will leave it at that for anybody else that hasn't gone yet.

This is the jumping pillow which the girls loved (Mia is the one in pink and if you look far enough you will see Mike holding Maylee's hand (she is in a yellow jacket)

Here is the tractor ride (free with admission). The girls loved this too!

Ok I just typed a whole thing about our trip and than I hit something and it was gone. Not fair... so I will try it again.

We also went on a hay rack ride and also rode the go cart things (you have to pedal them) which they are also free. Most things are free with admission. There are a ton of buildings that have more stuff to do or read about.

The pony and train rides you do have to pay for (I can't remember how much, sorry). But we didn't do them.

We have gone twice and were there 5 hours each time, so if you haven't gone yet get out and go. But be prepared to stay a while. It does cost 10.50 a person over 3 years old. But it was fun both times. (I do want to add we got discounts and stuff both times we went).

This last time we went with my parents (which you do see my dad in the tractor ride with Mia).

Little bits of stuff

It has been a week or so since I last posted anything. Life has been crazy busy I guess.

I have also decided to try to sew (learning on my own). And now will be making a tote bag and crayon roll for each of my girls for church. I have made one but it was a learning one and didn't turn out the best. But each of them love it. I will post pictures when I am done, as the first isn't worth picture taking.

I also decided I needed to learn how to crochet. So I made a hat... will have to take a picture of that one. As it turned out nice for the first time. I am going to make another one with better yarn but didn't want to waste good yarn on practice :) So be looking for those too.

So yes... I have been trying to be crafty. I guess when you start realizing you have no money... you start to think what you can do on your own. The girls love it when mommy makes something for them anyway!

Otherwise Halloween is coming up.. which Mia ask everyday if it is Halloween yet. She is ready to go and trick or treat. I don't think she realizes that at truck or treat she will also get candy.

We also visited Vala's pumpkin patch again (have more pictures for that too). Mia got picked to cheer at the pig races and her pig won. So she got a pig nose, you know she would pose with a pig nose on but otherwise she would do her normal and turn as fast as she could when she seen the camera.

For those of you that don't know this, we have also been assigned to start going to the Wahoo Branch. I think it will be a lot of fun but yet way different than what we are used too. Our first sunday will be this sunday. So check back for how it went!

I don't think I have a ton of people reading this. But it sure is fun to type away! I enjoy going in and reading other people blogs. I guess it is my way of trying to stay in touch. I guess I should just get on the phone... but I don't do that much either (really I don't)

This weekend, we have a wedding and birthday party to go to. So that will be fun. I don't think I will share any pictures until I get a release form from them. If I do, I will try to share some.

Oh Mike has his new student enrollment this friday. So he will be at UNL for the whole day. So hopefully after that he will also have his classes in order! I can't believe he is about to start school, but I am excited for him. Change can be fun, but it also can be stressful. I am hoping the whole part if fun if I get to choose.

We are going to Vala's pumpkin patch again... 101.9 had a 1/2 deal last friday and I jump right on that. So on the 20th we are going in the morning. I hope to get better pictures of the girls. I think Mia will let me (I am going to take quarters to bribe her). She think a quart is a ton of money, so it works in my favor.

Ok so I thought I would show you my house... because hopefully sooner than later it will be somebody else's new house. We have lived here for over 5 years. It has been nice. Each of the girls have their own rooms (we will see if they do when we move). At first Mia thought we were selling everything in it too.. so she was disappointed. But once she figured out that she gets to keep her bed and toys she is fine with it all. She is hoping another little girl moves into her room because it is purple. But she will also live if not. We are excited for the changes that are happening in our lives. We know we will struggle but that is ok as long as we are happy!

Conference

I got a lot out of conference this weekend. But I mainly want to point out one thing.. TIME. If you don't always please spend more time with your family! Make sure to make the time for scripture study, pray, and FHE. I do believe you also need time for yourself but take it in moderation.

Fun Friday

So today I am watching a little girl (3) that used to go to daycare with the girls. They think it is great when there is somebody over. Last friday I watch Evelyn (my cousins kid) and so I guess it is becoming a friday thing. So if I get a call and somebody wants to bring their kid (or I guess I could take more than one) over next friday, more power to you! The girls will show them everything and more. Mia thinks that she is in charge though... so I have to get her out of that mode.

Or maybe better yet, anybody want my kids next friday? maybe I could go and find something fun to do :) I really think it is fun though for the girls to have somebody over in their enviroment and play. I finishes off the week that is for sure!

Well we did make it to Vala's pumpkin patch... but as always no great pictures of the girls especially Mia. She kept telling me she didn't need a picture and would watch for me to get the camera out. So I have decided that I really need to get a point and shoot so she don't see me coming... watch out girls.

Here is little M, she is so funny. I was taking pictures of my nephew and niece for halloween cards. She decided she needed a picture too.. so I told the other kids to hold on and hurried and took the picture... thanks little M you are too cute!

She loved putting her head in these things... this was my favorite of her!

And then they wanted to feed the goats... but decided they were afraid! Like how they are feeding them. And the last picture is of some pigs.. the pig races were so fun!

I hope you had fun reading about their day. We were there at 5pm and left after 10 when they closed. The girls mostly hung out with their dad, which was great for all three of them.

Digital Scapbooking

So lately I have been checking out digital scrapbooking. It looks like fun without all the different inks and stuff you would have to do with regular scrapbooking.

I haven't started anything... but hopefully in the next few weeks I will be able to show some things. So if you don't check this out often... come back the end of October and hopefully there will be something to show you (who knows I might even get one done faster.. we shall see).

On top of that... questions:
Do you scrapbook? If so.. I so need help on where to start! I have photoshop... I can take pictures... now it is just getting them on a page.
Also right now I don't really have any money to spend... so any tips there would be great!

Oh... my grandpa is doing well! I should call him and see if he needs anything. And yes it was his lower back that worked on.

The girls and I went to the zoo yesterday. We went with Lona and Evelyn and had a great time! I actually took my camera with me... and you would think I took a ton of pictures. If you did you guessed wrong. I had the attention to do so but with it being a little cold and than different ones falling asleep. This is the only picture I actually took:

Although I really like it... it isn't my children. So we will have to make another trip or share some from a different time.

After the zoo we decided to go and see if we could find any costumes. And sure enough we did find something... for Maylee anyway. She is going to be a doctor, she picked it out herself. And Mia has decided on yet another thing.. a butterfly. Now off to find butterfly wings (I did hear some wonderful people at church say they have some... so I guess shopping to there house we go).

Later on Lona and I ended up at the church to play volleyball. I really need to space out my exercise throughout the week. Doing it all in one day totally wears me out! So my goal is to get more exercise in!

Enjoy my zoo picture! Now off to go to the hospital to see my grandpa who had surgery today. He said it should be an in and out thing but we will see when i get there. (if my brain is working correctly he has to do with his back- so GET WELL SOON GRANDPA!)

A picture of Mike and I.. and it was just taken today! (we haven't had a pic done in a while so it was nice to do so without the girls. I was actually taking a friends family picture and had them take this one of us so I could have it.

Having children

So having children is something I have always wanted. I have been babysitting since I was 10 (yeah that is way to young, no way in the world is a 10 year old going to watch my babies right now). I even watched a newly born one that young. I totally loved it though and am glad I was trusted way back than (ok so I am not that old.. but really that was 16 years ago). And looking back on kids I watch.. they are either graduated or going to soon so there has been some time since I started babysitting. But now I really only watch my 2 girls (and this is my far the greatest job I have ever had).

As parents it is our responsibility to care for our children. Being at home full time I have come to love and learn more from them. It was be way cool if there was book out there that told you exactly what to do... but they don't. Which I am glad for, I (well my husband and I) get to make the choices I want for my children. As I have started looking around, we are all made so different that no one book would help that much.

Anyway no need to tell you all stuff you probably already now and bore you to death.

I LOVE being home with my GIRLS!!!

So for today: remember to take pictures of all moments (and if you are like me.. make sure you get them printed out too!)

So today was so much like a Monday I (Marcia) was almost confused. Mondays normally don't go anything like planned and well lets just say today was at least like that. But I did get the dishes done (yeah for me!) and have kept up for a while now. I could have done laundry (what day of the week can't you do laundry)? But decided I didn't feel like folding so that is on hold until tomorrow afternoon (The girls and I are going to the Omaha children's museum in the morning).

It is just crazy how life can go so fast sometimes! One day it is Sunday and the next it is Wednesday... so were did the rest of it go? I mean seriously days just don't fall off the calender. So I am hoping they find there way back there for the week to come otherwise I have a feeling next week won't be any better! Or how about a whole year just walks off the calender... I did have two babies.. now they are 4-1/2 and 2-1/2? Time flies that is for sure!

So my motto: "Enjoy what you have today because you might not have it tomorrow"

You never really know what will happen! So really take each day at a time.

Ok so I have posted once a day now.. I won't expect that but you never know. I might come up with something to say. But if I start getting boring.. I will know to slow down.

This Maylee! I took these while taking pictures of Katie B. for her junior year. I might come back and change it out but for how these will have to do. Ok I started a blog a while back.. but that was for photography and than I didn't stick with it. Than I decided last week I was going to start one monday. Oh and I will be the first to say I am not in english so forget any grammer errors.

So a little about us...

Mia is 4-1/2 now. She loves everything about life. She is so independent and wants to do everything her (how fun for me... because I end up doing it half the time when she realizes she can't). She is preschool age but for now I just started working with her at home. She likes to have a mommy teacher! She even pretends she is the mommy teacher when she is playing school with Maylee. She is growing like a weed and at least once a day she reminds me that she is almost as tall as me (ok I am short.. but girl you have time before that happens).

Maylee is 2-1/2. And lets just say she acts like it too. She thinks everybody needs to stop for her at all times. She is having a hard time realizing we don't do that and never did. She likes to be the youngest and would like to stay that way for a while. (she gets jealous if I hold somebody elses baby). She does her hardest to pick on her big sister all day long. Ok it isn't that bad but boy it feels that way at times. They do get a long great! And are so cute with each other.

Mike is working for his dad. He will start school in January. He will be going to UNL to get a bachelors degree in Chemistry. And from there we aren't for sure yet. He is excited to be able to go back to school though. So we will offically be college students... which I hope is a good thing. His calling is teaching adult sunday school every other week. He does a good job and I think he enjoys enjoy.

Ok for me... ummm. I am a stay at home mom now (that started in Feb). I love it! I get to sleep in on some days so that is nice. I am a cub scout leader for my calling. I have the 8 year olds (wolfs). I go into church every tuesday night for activites. I hope to start my photography business also by January.

So that is our family for now. Oh we are also selling our house. So if you know anybody that wants to live in Ceresco... it can be yours!

Now to figure out how to post pictures and I will start sharing some of the girls. And if you are lucky some of the whole family!
